Description
Eliminate engine vibration and protect your transmission with the genuine LuK Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) and Mounting Kit. Engineered by Schaeffler—the inventor of the original automotive dual mass flywheel—this complete kit combines a precision-tuned primary and secondary flywheel mass, an integrated internal arc spring damping system, and high-strength factory-grade mounting bolts. Over time, extreme engine torque pulses and high thermal loads wear out internal springs, causing severe idle rattle, clutch shudder, and drivetrain harshness. This heavy-duty replacement unit solves those issues directly. It absorbs crankshaft torsional vibrations completely, protects manual and dual-clutch transmissions from shock loads, and restores buttery-smooth powertrain operation.
Technical Parameters
| Category | Specifications & Technical Details |
| Dual-Mass Decoupling & Internal Arc Spring Matrix | Adopts primary / secondary dual-mass decoupling design with built-in high-performance multi-stage arc springs, capable of 100% absorbing and filtering torsional pulse vibration output from the engine crankshaft. |
| High-Strength High-Thermal Friction Face | The clutch contact working surface undergoes high-frequency quenching and precision surface grinding, featuring extremely high thermal crack resistance and friction wear resistance. It withstands extreme half-engagement sliding friction heat without deformation. |
| OE-Grade High-Tensile Mounting Bolt Kit | Includes a complete set of specially manufactured flywheel mounting bolts that have undergone tensile strength quench and temper treatment, ensuring absolutely reliable fastening rigidity under extreme high-speed rotational centrifugal force. |
| Stepless Axial/Radial Travel Limiter & Anti-Bottoming Design | Internally integrates a precision mechanical limit structure, preventing excessive spring compression during hard acceleration or heavy-load towing. Completely resolves launch impact bottoming noise. |
| Precision Dynamic Balancing & Low-Inertia Topology | Each unit undergoes high-precision computer dynamic balancing calibration before leaving the factory, minimizing residual rotational unbalance to prevent engine vibration during high-speed operation. |
Applicable Car Brands & Models
Typical warning symptoms include:
Idle Rattle / Metallic Knocking: A loud rattling or knocking noise coming from the bell housing when the engine idles in neutral, which usually disappears when pressing the clutch pedal.
Severe Drivetrain Vibration: Shaking or heavy shuddering felt through the floorboards or steering wheel during acceleration, especially at low RPMs.
Clutch Pedal Pulsation: A pulsating or vibrating sensation felt underfoot when lightly pressing the clutch pedal.
Starting / Stopping Thud: A metallic clunk or jolt when turning the engine off.
Factory flywheel bolts are typically “torque-to-yield” (stretch) bolts designed to stretch slightly during initial tightening to clamp the flywheel securely under extreme thermal expansion and high-RPM centrifugal force. Re-using old stretched bolts risks bolt snapping and catastrophic engine/transmission destruction.
While conversion kits exist, switching to a solid flywheel removes the vital torsional damping system designed by the vehicle manufacturer. This often results in significantly increased transmission gear rattle, harsh vibrations, and premature wear on synchronizers and transmission bearings.
Due to its heavy weight and high precision, each LuK DMF is treated with anti-corrosion oil, secured with heavy-duty retaining brackets, and packed in a reinforced, multi-layer Schaeffler corrugated master box with high-density foam edge protectors to withstand harsh international freight handling.
